Appointments and what to expect
How do I get an appointment?
The quickest way is online through Doctolib, where you can see the available times straight away. You can also reach us by phone on 030 213 40 42 during our opening hours: Monday 10 am to 6 pm, Tuesday 1 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday 9 am to 6 pm, Thursday 9 am to 5 pm and Friday 8 am to 2 pm.
I have severe toothache. What should I do?
Please call us and tell us right away that you are in pain. Early in the day is best, as it is then easier for us to fit you in. Briefly describe how long you have had the symptoms and where it hurts.
I am afraid of the dentist. Is that a problem?
No, and you are welcome to tell us when you call. We will then allow more time, explain every step in advance and agree on a hand signal you can use to stop the treatment at any point. A first appointment without any treatment is possible.
Do you treat children as well?
Yes. The first visit takes place without any treatment, so that your child can get to know the practice calmly. We explain every step in language a child can understand.
Costs and health insurance
What does treatment cost?
That depends on the findings. For larger treatments such as dentures, we draw up a treatment and cost plan (Heil- und Kostenplan) beforehand. It sets out what is planned and which share your health insurer will cover. You submit the plan to your insurer and can then decide in your own time.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Through the Deutsches Zahnärztliches Rechenzentrum, a dental billing service, you can pay your bill in instalments. You set the term and the amount yourself.
Does my health insurer pay for professional tooth cleaning?
Professional tooth cleaning is usually an additional service. Many statutory health insurers do, however, contribute towards the cost. It is best to ask your insurer directly, as the rules differ considerably.
Treatments
How often should I have professional tooth cleaning?
For many adults, one or two appointments a year are appropriate. People who tend to have gum inflammation or who smoke often come at shorter intervals. We will discuss what makes sense for you after the examination.
Does root canal treatment hurt?
We numb the tooth with a local anaesthetic beforehand, so that the treatment involves minimal discomfort for you. Many patients find it calmer than they had expected. Let us know during the treatment as soon as you feel anything, and we will pause and give you more anaesthetic.
How long does an implant last?
With good care, an implant can last many years. Regular check-ups and thorough cleaning matter, including the spaces between your teeth. Sufficient bone is also needed, and we check this before treatment.
I grind my teeth at night. What helps?
A bite splint, also known as a grinding splint, does not stop the grinding, but it protects the teeth and relieves the chewing muscles. It is made and fitted for your jaw.
What do I need to bear in mind after a tooth extraction?
First bite gently on the swab for about 30 minutes, cool your cheek from the outside and take it easy for the rest of the day. On the first day it is better to avoid coffee, alcohol and nicotine altogether.

Yes. The information sheet on tooth extraction and the instalment agreement are available in English, Turkish and Arabic.
